Distance: Approximately 150–160 km round trip, subject to the confirmed route

Today is the signature day of the Great Himalayan Challenge. Depart Hanle early, provided road access, weather conditions and all required permissions have been confirmed.

Ride across the immense high-altitude plateau towards the Chisumle sector and begin the ascent towards Umling La. At approximately 5,798 metres, Umling La is recognized as one of the world's highest motorable passes.

The journey offers an extraordinary riding experience across remote mountain terrain, vast open plateaus and barren Himalayan ridges. At the summit, take photographs and enjoy a brief stop if conditions permit.

Extreme altitude can affect physical performance and judgement. The expedition leader will determine whether it is safe to continue, how long the group can remain at the summit and when to descend.

After the summit visit, descend carefully and return to Hanle for an evening of rest.

    Overnight: Homestay in Hanle.
